@fallenhitokiri do you have a printer or are you going to find one? I'm was happier with my Bambu before their recent changes but it works well despite that.

@fallenhitokiri I'd grabbed one last Fall, first for some Haloween costume props. #1 thing is to try to get a compressor with a tank. I'd gotten the not quite cheapest set from amazon (slightly higher capacity on the compressor). Then you can add better brushes later.

Made the few 3d printed things I painted so easy. Had also started with some airbrush thinner and craft store acrylic paints. (So much cheaper)

@fallenhitokiri I'd say you should scam some recent reddit threads (r/minipainting and others). Things might change, but a lot of the compressor kits on Amazon seem like different labels on a couple basic models. I've seen an $89 price point mentioned, but for a few $$ more I grabbed the stronger pump and extra brushes.

YouTube is also a good source of guides and reviews.

Unless, of course, you want a general purpose air compressor. I've seen a few people run air lines from their garage

@joncruz thanks, I’ll take a look at the sub Reddit. I was already watching some YouTube videos, but they were a bit contradicting, so I need more data points :)

@webology I am looking at resin printing for the finer details on the statues and I don’t want to create a workspace that meets the requirements for safely handling resin.
Plus we have a shop that estimates cost with material plus 30€. So my break even (assuming I get all printing right from the start) would be 25ish statues.

So I’ll only be painting for now :)
