Here's the current state of the module. Managed to get all the switches and LEDs working. Plus all the controls and inputs (though none of them actually do anything yet).
Biggest hurdles were my shonky soldering which took some repairing, forgetting some power to the board, wiring stuff backwards too - I'm always thankful that Arduinos are forgiving for this, at least so far for me.
Plus, turns out that VGA cables aren't just 15 parallel wires end to end, as I'd naively assumed - several of them are joined together internally. So I had to rejig some stuff to take that into account.
Overall very chuffed with it!
