It really rips my knitting that the BBC radio news this morning announce the new govt funding for heat pump, solar, batteries immediately followed by “the conservatives have warned that this will significantly increase household running costs” (owtte) then they move on to another headline.

Utter nonsense. I got a heat pump ~5 years ago. I’m old enough to remember the cost of gas ROCKETED SKY HIGH 📈 soon after due to the invasion of Ukraine, and my heating costs only went up a little.
