I want to dedicate this post to the librarians. I can still remember the books I read as a child that made an impact on me, books that opened my eyes to a world outside my little corner. Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye was one of those books. The idea that a librarian would be criminally charged for allowing me to check it out is, well, dystopian. I know this because I was allowed to read George Orwell's 1984.
