Moving from one Mastodon instance to another, is apparently trivial. But that’s not what I want to do. I want to change the software operating that instance. Practically impossible without a scorched earth policy.
@norm could you do an atomic change? temporarily shift the existing instance, then set up the new one. migrate, and then delete the original.
@jelly domains are basically locked in, so would end up much the same end result of disconnected relationships
