@fallenhitokiri I'd grabbed one last Fall, first for some Haloween costume props. #1 thing is to try to get a compressor with a tank. I'd gotten the not quite cheapest set from amazon (slightly higher capacity on the compressor). Then you can add better brushes later.
Made the few 3d printed things I painted so easy. Had also started with some airbrush thinner and craft store acrylic paints. (So much cheaper)

@fallenhitokiri I'd say you should scam some recent reddit threads (r/minipainting and others). Things might change, but a lot of the compressor kits on Amazon seem like different labels on a couple basic models. I've seen an $89 price point mentioned, but for a few $$ more I grabbed the stronger pump and extra brushes.
YouTube is also a good source of guides and reviews.
Unless, of course, you want a general purpose air compressor. I've seen a few people run air lines from their garage
