Get your colleagues to anonymously put their salaries in a shared spreadsheet and figure out the daily waste then send that figure to the CFO.

@sashabilton I am confident that *my* managers, as in the ones I report to, are not the problem – it's someone on the other side of the ocean who doesn't know or care what we do at this piddly branch office. So I guess it's closest to "lack any actual authority" because yes, my local managers absolutely should be able to authorize a few thousand euros of hardware expenses without going through the Corporate Overlord.
