Langtauferer
Today, a year ago, I ventured on a dream trip I'd been researching for a long time, and which ended up being a semi-religious experience, being immersed in (and somewhat overwhelmed by) an actively changing environment, the upheaval and plethora of geological features, structures, unreal colors, layers, textures and the "wounds" exposed by the melting and disappearing glaciers... Countless waterfalls, stunning erosion features, later traversing the glacier gate and creek, descending on the ridge of a moraine almost 200m tall (marking the extent of the glacier ~175 years ago), further down walking through the cutest first generation larch forest with the biggest number of mushrooms I've ever seen... Hardly ever have I experienced Earth in such a vivid manner (Yellowstone maybe coming close, but very different)... it felt like being a witness on a journey through both geological and biological time scales, all within a single 24km hike...
