Oh I still own my Montreal Packet radio modem I built in 1980? on a 24 pin card for an AIM6502 I wrote my version of the Packet Assembly Disassembly PAD in 6502 assmebler and we communicated with the Montreal packet radio folks via a repeater.
Yes there are EXAR modem parts on that board.
