I'm an Enby ND #Nerd who enjoys the darker side of life: #Horror books and movies, #Plushie pals (especially bats, owls, goats, etc), #ScienceFiction (especially #Dystopian), #Folklore, #Urbex, #Darkwave #Music, #AncientHistory, the #Occult, etc. I established this account to focus on stuff I enjoy, as opposed to my political account. Hoping to find some like-minds here, without scaring them off with all my Doom & Gloom posts.

#Introduction / #introductions Well, I'm *thinks hard* a #WFH lecturer/arts educator/artist who follows #landscape artists, #ClassicalMusic, #Birdlovers, #SciFi and #AncientHistory buffs, #historicalwarfilms as my perennial interests but open to new ideas and interests.
#SideHustle is #Parsifal, #Grail, and #Arthurian legends. Just finished running a #CreativeWriting course on this.
Likes to sail the vastness of the deep, deep seas and deep, deep space in my mind's eye. But not a real sailor as, like Sir Francis Chichester's wife, I can't tolerate blue water sailing. Still, I have a strange fascination for maritime fiction.
Dogged by #Grammarly and unwritten papers.
Intro post. I'm a #Boston area #academic #librarian working at a school you've heard of. My background is in #AncientHistory and #MilitaryHistory, but I'm much more likely to be posting my own photos or other people's, especially #UrbanPhotography and #skylines. Media criticism, especially #movies and #news is a hobby as well, and sometimes I play #VideoGames and #TabletopGames. Team #orca.

Nice start to this morning: email alert from Google Scholar telling me my MA dissertation has been cited again. It's described as a 'historical study'! Despite it being a topic I chose for a laugh (and somehow got away with it), it's been cited at least 6 times, whereas my 'serious' MPhil thesis has never been cited.

I work in media relations in Brisbane, Australia, and also study #AncientHistory and #ClassicalLanguages.
When I'm not doing those things, I'm often walking, listening to music or taking photos (mainly architecture, urban spaces, walls...).
Evangelical about hats, Akubra Bogart or Stylemaster usually.
I'm trying to find a recipe or item of food that is not improved by the addition of ginger and/or chilli.
Everything here is in a personal capacity.
