Price of camper vans is ridiculous this year, so I've bought a tent in the vague hope I'll get more than one use out of it to amortise the cost.

Of course, once I factor in the inflatable mattress, camping chairs, hammer, portable light, and all the other bits 'n bobs, I'm not sure how much money I'll be saving.

@Edent Cheaping out on the mattress is a false economy. I did my back in at EMFcamp 2024 and sciatica is not a fun time.

@Edent I'm trying switching from an inflatable to a cot. Inflatables are big and heavy and easily get holes. I'm hoping the cot will offer comparable comfort. I wanted a Helinox, but couldn't justify the price for using it once per year, so ended up finding a similar one on a Chinese website.

@Edent is it just that it's summer holiday prices because of the later dates this time?

@sherbang @Edent I think its a bit swings and roundabouts. Cot doesn’t deflate overnight but also i didn’t find it as comfortable.
