I just got a gaming router so that I can be a real Gamer Girl™
The glowing antennas lower the latency, right?

@LilahTovMoon Those aren’t lights. The wifi radio is so powerful it glows white hot.
@LilahTovMoon the lights help the packets see where they need to go, meaning they have to spend less time trying to find the router.
@LilahTovMoon It seems you have chosen the path of the dark side
@LilahTovMoon the witches have gifted you gigabits
@LilahTovMoon
Needs a pentagram for good measure. :p
Though with six antennae, a hex might be more apropos.
@LilahTovMoon They should flash to show data is being transferred, the faster the flashing the faster the data transfer
@LilahTovMoon if you sacrifice something on the alter you will have great ping.
@LilahTovMoon is it just a normal router with LED?
@LilahTovMoon Most funny to me is that "real gamers" wouldn't even use wifi, lol.
@LilahTovMoon It makes the radio waves move at the speed of light.
@LilahTovMoon @catsalad They either lower latency or summon an advantageous demon, I can't remember which.
@LilahTovMoon Looks like some elbow grease and it can run OpenWRT. https://forum.openwrt.org/t/gpl-drop-for-qualcomm-ipq6018-msi-radix-ax6600-e-aka-grax66-whats-next/190352/26
@LilahTovMoon I hope they PWM the LED brightness for that extra hit to SNR.
@LilahTovMoon Looks like a landing platform for an imperial spacecraft 🛸
@LilahTovMoon With the new AI button mice, latency is already compensated in the data center. It learns how many shots you miss and will do so for you ahead of time.
The red lights on the router only mean Microsoft Recall is recording.
@LilahTovMoon RGB gives you more FPS, event for wifi!
@LilahTovMoon pretty sure the red glow is for raging at team mates 🤔
@LilahTovMoon Oh Gaudy!
@LilahTovMoon @catsalad
No, but it endlessly searches for the one ring, and controls an army of orcs.
@LilahTovMoon Jeez, I hope that’s not in a bedroom because that is several orders of magnitude more lumens than a nightlight.
@leifdavisson Yea, the fact that it wasn't a Broadcom router did factor into my decision
@me Mostly? I got it because it was the best thing I could get at the price it was being offered. It was kinda like "buy this or spend an additional $100+ on something that's basically the same, but actually has a 1.4GHz 3-core Cortex-A53 instead of a 1.8 GHz 4-core Cortex-A53." It does have a "fancy" graphene coated heatsink/heatpipe system in it, but I suspect that's probably marketing too.
Sometimes a product with silly marketing ends up on clearance and makes it the best value for the money 🤷🏻♀️
@staringatclouds Yea, like when computers would flash during hard drive reads!
@LilahTovMoon If you had different colours you could have put some music on & have a disco
@staringatclouds It can be switched to green or blue: https://tech.lgbt/@LilahTovMoon/112736119287546626
@LilahTovMoon Just need a mirrorball
@thatgalsilver The dark side has more bandwidth
