After some help please...
Not wanting to end up with stuck furniture (Dirk Gently's sofa on the staircase, for example), does anybody know an easy way of modelling our hallway and a sideboard to see if it can possibly be manoeuvred through a doorway?
@NAB if youโre familiar with any sort of CAD software you can use that. I modelled a room a while back along with different furniture options so I could move them around like a dollโs house.
@NAB Not on anywhere the same scale, but I used FreeCAD to model the front tray on my pushbike to work out which sizes of Pelicase I could fit in there. I just modelled simple boxes for the Pelicases with the exterior dimensions, and used the interior dimensions of the carrier tray which is an irregular cuboid, so not JUST simple to recreate.
It feels like by modelling the hallway, doorways and the sideboard as simple rectangles and cuboids it would be possible to move things to see if they fit.
@NAB last time I did this, I built a scale model in lego... have also modelled my house in build engine (Duke nukem 3D) but that was less useful ๐
@Slash909uk @phlash I'm trying to avoid the expense of buying 7+ square metres of material to test it with.
