So I started learning Home Assistant about a year ago. It's been a real journey, but now that I'm a bit more seasoned with it, I can say that I really like it.
My home isn't particularly "smart" but having a customizable dashboard for certain things has been really great.
Someday a video will come from this but I didn't want to talk about Home Assistant with only a few days of experience.
@vkc I've tried it out a little bit and been wanting to do something with it but just generally can't come up with any automations that would actually be helpful.
@SonnyBonds @vkc a few quick examples:
Alerting when power drops back to normal levels so I know when the oven has heated.
Lights coming on when I enter a room and off when I leave.
Remotely turning on my gaming computer so I can stream from it.
A clock on my bedside table showing the current weather.
Dimming the lights a while before I go to bed. (And eventually turning off the TV if I ignore that and still don’t go to bed)
