@dave I just wonder who their target audience is. Their entire product is just an included part of AWS and their pricing isn't magically better than that.
@dave this is up against products like AWS Transfer, which in its most basic configuration costs $216/month. Half the finance industry runs on CSVs being sent via SFTP to other places, and in that industry $600/month for SOCS compliance is pocket change.
@jon Yipes! I knew AWS Transfer existed, I hadn't looked at the pricing though. That's insane!
They've certainly left a lot of room for small businesses to make a hefty profit in the middle.
@dave Exactly. It's just utterly baffling.
I suppose the upkeep on that service is probably part time for someone and the costs are negligible, so putting it out there and seeing who bites might be considered worth it.
@psa what I wonder is whether they're using that fucking bananas pricing to position themselves as "enterprise".
