I'm a self employed builder. I often deliberately misspell clients names in emails or texts because I know that those who complain about it are gonna be difficult customers. We do much better work for laid back people who let us get on with the work.
@fesshole wasn’t there someone a while back complaining about a tradesman misspelling their name? Have we now had both sides of the fess and everyone thinks they’re up on the deal?
@fesshole
Difficult, as in the actually want what they pay you for? I bey you prefer people who don't care so you can get away with anything, don't you?
On the upside, you also signal to people who expect you to (a) treat them with respect and (b) pay attention to details and do a thorough job that you’re not going to do those things. And therefore shouldn’t get the gig. Win-win, I guess.
@fesshole this is also what internet scammers do. they can’t rip off people with an eye for the small details, because they’ll spot the grift later on, so filter them out before wasting time on them. grifters gonna grift.
@fesshole
Good way to find out who will be too meek to complain about being over-charged. Nice one.
