visit to IKEA complete. only partially made a fool of myself while lifting heavy unwieldy furniture boxes with my noodle arms.
@gsuberland New shorks acquired?
also had a panic moment when I realised I had no idea what time @FieldFX starts tonight, and I'm supposed to be DJ'ing.
it's at 9pm, which gives me some time to grab food and get set up.
@gsuberland that's our announce toot now, thanks!
anyway I should probably get some cheap dumbbells or something to get some arm muscle back; I've atrophied pretty much everything due to my sedentary keyboard-focused lifestyle. and I'm too ADHD for the gym, even if it was next door it'd be enough of a barrier to make me never go.
in the meantime, furniture assembly will suffice as exercise.
(not looking for exercise advice)
also turns out I left my car unlocked for two days straight which is suboptimal considering I had left about £2500 worth of lighting equipment in there (I still hadn't unpacked after NOVA lmao)
@gsuberland I can recommend climbing. Always failed with traditional gyms which I’d get bored off fast, but climbing comes with a levelling mechanic and frequent DLC as they re-route the walls.
@gsuberland
I've assembled so much Ikea furniture that I now have a favorite screwdriver, which is vodka and orange juice.
@gsuberland
There's already one dumbbell in my house; I'd rather not add any more.
@jon I used to climb a lot in my teenage years (including some wildly inadvisable things with no safety gear), and I still have excellent grip strength, but unfortunately I have ankylosing spondylitis which makes things challenging.
@gsuberland sorry to hear it. Arthritis runs in my family so I’m currently making the most of things until it catches up with me.
@gsuberland nah that's fine everyone's had enough of light lately with the heat waves
@gsuberland I do this all the time, driving a car that does pretty much everything automatically except for locking the doors
@azonenberg no new shorks, I click and collected to avoid the temptation to purchase a small army of them.
two new 3x2 chests of drawers for the lab.
