Massive corporate fines are pointless. They just get passed onto us one way or the other in the form of higher costs and bills. What we need are smaller fines, but targeted at upper level management and board members.
@anon_opin for a short time in 2003/2004 I sat on the board of directors of a small UK company. I was told that one of the responsibilities of being a director was that I could go to prison if the company were punished by the courts. Is that no longer true?
@scottearle @anon_opin it’s a very theoretical risk, which basically never actually happens short of a company explicitly asking the board of directors for permission to order the assassination of a rival company’s CEO.
