that's a fascinating one, can't say I've come across that one before (and I've certainly been in cramped trains, both in DE and elsewhere)

@firefly @q it's apparently a problem with braking. The train would e.g. not be able to stop on time on an automatic braking event at a red signal. (Zwangsbremsung, Zugbeeinflussung and Durchrutschweg are beautiful words)
Unfortunately often nobody wants to get off voluntarily to take the next train, so everybody gets delayed by waiting for Bundespolizei 🙄

@firefly @mutax yeah there are legitimate safety reasons, but 4 tonnes is a lot of people

@q @firefly around 50 people with an average weight of 80 kg? We are surprisingly heavy ^^

@q @mutax I'm just surprised the rolling stock isn't set up with this in mind (like, I've been stood in really cramped commuter trains filled to the brim in Sthlm; I _hope_ those were run with braking constraints in mind..)
