TIL 2 depressing things:
1) The Queue (for QEII's corpse viewing) is it's page name on wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Queue apparently there is no need to disambiguate the definitive article)
2) apparently of the 250k people who joined it 2,000 needed medical help and roughly 250 (1%) ended up going to hospital. For comparison Glastonbury is about the same size and in 2007 has 1200 injuries & 32 hospitalisations despite it being a mud filled party)
@SamLR Glastonbury's hospitalisation rate is low because they effectively operate a small hospital on site including radiology and dentistry. You have to be quite unwell to be taken off-site.
(also I am *sure* they have more than 1200 injuries)
@russss I'm sure you're right there but I feel 8% injury rate for "stand in a queue" is worryingly high
