#emfcamp people! I am coming this year for the first time, and solo. What ONE tip (seriously just one) would you give someone coming, and read the ones before so there's no doubles. If you like a tip from someone else just fave it and I'll know it's most awesome, dude.
@Thayer wooooo!
FOMO is real even when you are there. Remember that your body and mind have limits - don't try do everything.
See you there 😄
@Thayer ear plugs with good filters for music, and ear plugs for sleeping (the ones you mould are good)
@Thayer bring a plastic bag to keep your change of clothes dry in the showers. They're normally good, but in the past there hasn't been a place to leave them where they wouldn't get wet.
And we're going to be going out of our way to help first-timers at the event this time! Please give feedback!
@Thayer I’m giving two, but wearing different hats:
With my volunteer lead hat on: Pick up a volunteer shift or two (they’ll be available on the website), it’s what makes the event work, also it’s genuinely fun hanging out with people you wouldn’t otherwise while maybe learning a new skill.
With my long time attendee hat on: Don’t fill your schedule for the weekend, leave big gaps to just do whatever takes your fancy or chat shit with whoever happens to be in the bar.
@Thayer they had a huge information board people could post stuff on last time. My daughter and I used that to find our next side quests. This is stuff that isn’t on an online planner etc, just something cool that someone has built or brought that they’d like people to see. (And it had memes on it, so many memes)
Sunblock _and_ a spare mylar survival blanket. Either for under yr crashpad, or skylab-style tent heat shield.
@hatvillage I do like hats.
