@gsuberland THAT'S SO COOL I just showed it to all the guys at work
next job: design and 3D print a mount for it on my workbench. I laser cut my last one out of plywood, for my old Tenma, but that's basically just a box. the Fluke has these nice TPU grabby mounts so you can just push it into place on a pair of parallel rails. which I imagine is going to be very satisfying.
EDIT: lmao these are probe holders! of course! idk how I missed that. but there's a little slot in the top for mounting so I can use that.
job after that: build a lightweight frame with magnets that can clip to the back of the head, so I can magnet it to things.
might also add a fold-out hook.

And these removable head DMM's are really nice.
I used to stick one on top of the oculars on the stereo microscope when probing things under the microscope.

so yeah it already has a magnet. they thought of everything!
I will, however, probably make a hook mount for it.
for the workbench mount I'm gonna do something with the toolpak hanging slot, with a hook on the side to loop the cables over and keep them out of the way. probes can slot into the holders on the back.

if the holders on the back end up being too grippy to remove them while it's still mounted then I'll make a v2 of the mount with separate holders.

@kinsale42 I bought this model specifically for this feature. could've gotten a better performance one of the same price, but being able to put the display somewhere I can see it (and it's really lightweight!) is a great benefit and a major frustration reduction when I'm crawling under a desk or something.
@gsuberland it would be great for us so we can stick our hands in a panel without having to be tethered to someone holding the display
@kinsale42 unfortunately they don't make them any more. I had to get mine off eBay, but luckily I scored an ex display model that was in mint condition, original box, still with the protective film on the display. and paid a lot less than retail.
