why tf does the Natwest bank app require like half a gigabyte of storage space on my phone
@jackeric very anecdotal but I saw a post a while ago that bank apps often contain a large file of junk data. It can be shrunk/removed entirely in the case of an emergency security update going out to reduce the number of people who don’t get it because their phone’s storage is full.
@jackeric same with TD Canada Trust's app. i uninstalled it cause it very explicitly wants to track its users. that's okay cause i can still use the webpage.
@burnitdown yeah, I can use the website, but with a card reader I've had since ~2005... might switch my pay to my other bank account and just use Natwest as a backup credit card and a credit-score-gaming "look at this current account I've held for over 20 years" thing
@jackeric that's pretty much one of two reasons i continue to hold onto my TD account, cause they are involved in some heinous unforgiveable shit. i keep as little money in the account as i can get away with. i've had it for more than 40 years. you still had to stand in line with a handwritten paper slip to make a deposit or withdrawal back then.
