@mhoye @pikesley this has to be at least partially a question of proper regulation. You don’t see harnesses sold under those terms because it’s straight up illegal to. A harness is either sold on the basis of “this has been engineered so that if it fails during a fall your spine will have failed before that” or it has to be very clearly labelled “this is for cosplay only, it will kill you if used in anger”.
