So, just hypothetically, if someone had detached a storage heater from the wall to discover it’s even heavier than they thought it would be, and they now had a storage heater propped up halfway to the floor blocking the path through their flat, what would the next play be?
Via the strategic application of a hammer I have managed to drag it somewhat out of the way on top of a towel. I will now continue with putting the new heater in and leave the problem of getting rid of the old one to Later Today Jon.
@jon I'd be tempted to take it to bits. I bet they install it without the firebricks in, so there should be an easy way.
@jarkman I’ve had similar advice from some other folk. They reckon it’s probably not asbestos but to wear a respirator anyway because it’s probably not good for me. Regrettably step one is turning the whole thing over to access the front panel.
