How is it I’m always drowning in USB memory sticks until the moment I need one?

@skylar @Edent we have a 40Gbps fibre connection. iPlayer will be fine.

@Edent you may be able to persuade one of the workshop villages to run an, ahem, Experimental Video Streaming Test. Stages are all fully occupied at that point.

@pikesley @james@strangeobject.space optional mandatory national service. Got you, super clear messaging there.

Today in the name of getting things done I committed code which comes with a three paragraph apology to the next person who encounters it.

I look forward to receiving an apology from my past self in two year’s time.

@james@strangeobject.space @pikesley sadly that will probably play well with the over 60s, his one remaining safe set of voters.

I am now on holiday from my job developing embedded Linux systems for 2.5 weeks, so of course I'm celebrating that by developing an embedded Linux system in the early hours of the morning.

I am packing. I truly hate packing.

@Edent I have two on my desk currently, and I *think* there’s another in a box somewhere.

@solderandchaos you’re allowed to give yourself some slack when it goes from having an EMF project to EMF being the project.

I don't know what everyone has against clubbing seals, they're incredibly cute.

It’s meant to be.

@norm ugh, yes. I briefly looked at the same thing recently and bailed out in disgust.

@solderandchaos @kestral @Edent @pikesley @info we’ve got every other kind of messaging service, seems silly if we leave out carrier pigeons really.

The ten year old’s current EMF status: “I can barely contain my excitement!”

@solderandchaos @kestral @info @pikesley @Edent by the time EMF starts every info desk toot will be a wall of hashtags and the actual message will be delivered one character at a time.

@kestral also, you should absolutely volunteer. Great way to meet people and you get free food as well. emfcamp.org/volunteer

@pikesley the sky is just getting the rain out of the way ahead of time. I refuse to believe otherwise.

@kestral I arrived at EMF 2012 knowing literally nobody else who was going. It was fantastic, one of the best impulsive decisions I’ve ever made.

@Edent can’t believe you so rudely didn’t mention IRC, the canonical EMF comms channel.

@james@strangeobject.space podcasts. I have a couple of current affairs/politics podcasts I listen to. As a bonus I have to listen, which requires not multitasking, so I also have a nice little walk while doing so.

Might have to adjust some of my home automation timings until after EMF, I keep finding I’ve been doing stuff in the dark for an hour because my flat thinks it’s bedtime.

Now THIS is the ultimate in capitalist greenwashing.

@gsuberland I may or may not have a solution to that problem (depending on the postal service, and computers not being awful).
