@tdp_org government rate seems fair, that double room is going to need a hell of a lot of cleaning after an entire government has stayed in it.
@Apiary @saraislet if you’re expected to work during vacation, quit.
@fesshole have you considered making a cafetière for three, then you could both have good coffee.
Shout out for having the guy who gave Nedry his shaving foam can as the big bad CEO however many years later.
Finally got round to watching Jurassic World Dominion this evening after putting it off because everyone said it was awful. It was about an hour too long, and squandered the premise of humanity living alongside dinosaurs, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as it was made out to be.
@james I’d like to see him exclusively doing his stuff in council properties, with an explicit message that they’re welcome to sell it to fund things like breakfast clubs and building more council housing. Guerrila local government funding.
@axbom I find positions like this to be very difficult because they’re so absolutist. Personally I try to avoid generative AI because of all the negative aspects you mention, but saying there are no good uses is incredibly blinkered.
There are absolutely good uses of AI. Given zero negative externalities I would be using it constantly. Everything I see and hear indicates it can be incredibly useful, and saying otherwise just makes those of us who want an equitable solution look stupid.
I needed to charge my TV remote the other day, so now it’s on the end of the long USB-C cable I keep there for charging things like game controllers and I kind of love the 70s vibes it gives off.
It’s more a disinformation B-road now, with occasional stretches of information that jump up on you out of nowhere.

I swear this is Siri exhibiting malicious compliance because of the endless bullshit I ask of it. The question was “how do you spell ninety”.
Apropos of nothing, Nintendo 3DS is easily the best pun in gaming. A product presumably developed because someone thought up the name and couldn’t let it go.
142) Cordbot. Unties the emergency cord in an accessible toilet if someone has tied it up. #SmallRobotsRemastered
Chess hasn’t been updated in almost 200 years and it’s obvious the devs have abandoned it. The greedy creators took your money and laughed all the way to the bank.
I remember back in 705 AD when chess was fun. Then they started adding stupid features no one wanted like “castling” and “en passant” instead of listening to player feedback and fixing game-breaking bugs. I’ve been complaining for years about the collision-detection glitch with the horsey. The ‘clipping-through-pieces’ bug has been abused to death and the lazy devs refuse to fix it.
Don’t support this awful behaviour and boycott this company.
