@jonathanhogg @jon @pascoda LED panel climbing wall that shows the mask of every previous climber overlaid, so you get a blob of meta-human to race against
(you could also do this with projection but that's less cool, easier though)
@jonty @jonathanhogg @pascoda it does seem terrifyingly doable. Biggest problem to solve is probably how to mount climbing holds on an LED wall. Nothing that can’t be solved with a lot of perspex, a laser cutter, and some planning though.
my god, @jon , what have we done?
😂
@CatherineFlick @jonty @jonathanhogg @jon @pascoda
everybody please step away from the lathe
@pikesley @jonty @jonathanhogg @jon @pascoda this is what happens when we're all back at work again
@CatherineFlick @pikesley @jonty @jonathanhogg @jon
we get deprivation symptoms and have stupid ideas?
@jon @jonathanhogg @pascoda Prototype should just be a projector, depth camera, and a start button I think. Could probably knock that out in a couple of hours if we had a climbing wall to play with.
@jon @jonty @jonathanhogg
oh, things like that have been built already, I think 😅
.. opening times for the bouldering wall, like with the escape rooms?
@pascoda @jonty @jonathanhogg LED lit holds on boards to highlight different routes set via an app are in basically every gym now. Projection mapping of people’s route across them less so.
@pascoda @jonty @jonathanhogg Me: “I’m going to commit to doing less next time”.
Also me: “But running a bouldering wall in Null Sec does sound amazing”.
@jon @jonathanhogg @pascoda We could totally pull off a bouldering wall like this at EMF though.
Or... https://www.jmentertainment.co.uk/category/climbing-walls/316/rock-climbing-wall-hire
@jonathanhogg @jon @pascoda Might be fun to just take a depth camera to the climbing wall one day and record a wall for a few hours to see what it might look like
@jonty @jonathanhogg @pascoda I’m very tempted to give this a go now, especially if it’s not at too much of an angle I reckon you could get really good distinction between wall, holds, and climber.
@jon @jonathanhogg @pascoda Oh, also, if you use a projector you can projection map the holds...
ha, here we go, some examples:
